About Us

Located in the Denver suburb of Castle Rock, CO, Julia’s Specialty Bakes is a new boutique bakery specializing in special occasions has arrived! A refreshing departure from existing local bakeries, this bakery offers made-to-order, custom cakes and baked goods that are anything but “off the shelf”. All items (particularly the cakes) are designed through a collaborative design process, resulting in super special, super fresh, one-of-a-kind baked goods with a signature homemade look. Products include custom cakes, cookies, scones, breads, muffins, brownies, pumpkin rolls, carrot cakes, artisanal dog treats and gluten free options.

About the Founder

Julia McConnaughey, founder of Julia’s Specialty Bakes feels that cooking a meal or dessert is one of the most intimate things you can do for another, yet growing up with such a large family this is something we all did - so innately and so often. Baking with her own hands, sharing her love of sweet treats and having others experience amazing tastes is something Julia lives for.

Julia originally started off with creating her own cookbook called DISH, which was solely inspired by her family. DISH is filled with recipes that come from the heart and roots of her family. Now, with Julia’s Specialty Bakes, she can take these recipes off the pages and into your mouths!
